Podkarpacie receives millions in EU funds for regional revitalization
The Podkarpacie Voivodeship Board has allocated 45 million PLN from European funds to support the development of small towns and rural areas. Three major projects were selected for funding to focus on the revitalization of public spaces, including squares, parks, and recreational zones, while also improving safety and accessibility.
One selected project, titled ‘Bieszczadzki klimat Baligrodu i Komańczy’, is a joint initiative between the municipalities of Baligród and Komańcza along with the Baligród Forest District. This project aims to create functional and aesthetic public spaces.
Additionally, the municipality of Oleszyce, in partnership with Wiązownica and Stary Dzików, has secured over 12 million PLN for the ‘Zielone Zagłębie’ heritage revitalization project. This initiative includes the renovation of the historic Greek Catholic Church of St. Onuphrius and the modernization of community centers in Stare Oleszyce and Zalesie to improve local integration and accessibility.
