European fund allocations in Podkarpacie

Overview

The Podkarpacie Voivodeship Board has utilized European funds to support various regional development initiatives.

In early September, the board announced the results of a funding competition for energy storage facilities. Over 8.9 million PLN was allocated to 41 approved projects, with a total investment value exceeding 23 million PLN. These subsidies, provided through the ‘European Funds for Podkarpacie 2021-2027’ program, aim to help local enterprises improve efficiency by storing surplus energy from renewable sources.

Following this, the board allocated 45 million PLN toward regional revitalization projects focused on small towns and rural areas. This funding supports the development of public spaces, such as parks and recreational zones, as well as heritage preservation. Notable initiatives include the ‘Bieszczadzki klimat Baligrodu i Komańczy’ project for public space creation and the ‘Zielone Zagłębie’ project, which involves renovating the historic Greek Catholic Church of St. Onuphrius and modernizing community centers.
