Podkarpackie companies to receive millions for energy storage

The Podkarpackie Voivodeship Board has announced the results of a funding competition for the construction of energy storage facilities for local enterprises. A total of 41 projects were approved, receiving support worth over 8.9 million PLN. The total value of the investments covered by this funding exceeds 23 million PLN.

The subsidies are provided through the ‘European Funds for Podkarpacie 2021-2027’ program. While 62 applications were submitted, the total amount requested was approximately 12.4 million PLN, which was lower than the nearly 78.7 million PLN originally allocated for the competition.

These energy storage solutions are intended to improve corporate efficiency by allowing businesses to better utilize energy produced from their own renewable sources. By storing surplus energy, companies can use it during periods of high demand, increasing self-consumption from photovoltaic installations and reducing the amount of energy fed back into the grid. Technical requirements for the projects included a minimum capacity of 30 kWh and a maximum power of 1 MWe. Ikea Industry Poland in Stalowa Wola received the largest single grant in this selection round.
