McDonald's rolls out Japan-wide Pokémon 30th anniversary burger range
Starting July 22, McDonald's Japan introduced a limited‑time menu to mark the franchise’s 55th anniversary and Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. The promotion features up to eight new items, including several burgers with Pokémon‑themed packaging such as a double‑beef “Tartar Demi Meat‑Thick Beef”, a spicy chicken “Garlic Chicken”, a shrimp‑tartar “Roasted Sesame Shrimp”, and three starter‑inspired burgers (Bisasam, Glumanda, Schiggy) offered only at Japanese outlets. Additional offerings include a morning‑only sausage muffin, a night‑only double‑beef burger, and a special “Shaka‑Shaka Potato” with sea‑weed seasoning. Prices range from ¥420 to ¥840 (≈$3–$6). The campaign also ties into Pokémon GO, turning participating McDonald’s locations into temporary PokéStops, and will run through early September, with new Pokémon Happy Meals slated for late July.
