Pokémon expands immersive experiences with LEGO tech and luxury hotels

The Pokémon franchise is expanding its immersive experiences through new technology and luxury hospitality. In collaboration with LEGO, the Pokémon XP event showcased the LEGO Pokémon Smart Play system. This system utilizes a SMART Brick—an electronic component equipped with motion, color, light, and sound sensors—to create an interactive, screen-free experience. Using SMART tags, players can feed, heal, train, and battle Pokémon by manipulating physical builds, which triggers specific digital-style responses through the brick.

Additionally, The Pokémon Company has announced a partnership with Not A Hotel and Pokémon Sleep to launch a unique lodging experience in Hokkaido, Japan. Selected guests will have the opportunity to stay inside a giant Poké Ball structure situated in a natural forest setting. The spherical capsule features a circular bed for two and a large glass window designed to simulate the opening of a Poké Ball, offering views of the surrounding landscape.
