Pokémon GO celebrates 10th anniversary with perfect Mewtwo giveaway

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Pokémon GO is offering a special Timed Research event available to players worldwide. By completing simple tasks, such as capturing ten Pokémon and powering up ten Pokémon, players can earn a guaranteed encounter with a Mewtwo featuring perfect 100% IV stats and a special commemorative background.

This specific Mewtwo also comes with the third Mega Level already unlocked, allowing for immediate use as Mega Mewtwo Y. Additional rewards for completing the research include a Master Ball and 500 Mega Energy. The event is scheduled to run until September 6, 2026.

In response to community feedback regarding the exclusivity of a previous Times Square event, developers confirmed that the rare Mewtwo with the Times Square background will be made available again in the future.
