Pokémon HOME update enables connectivity with FireRed and LeafGreen

The Pokémon Company and GAME FREAK have released update 4.1.0 for Pokémon HOME, enabling connectivity with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. This update allows players to transfer Pokémon captured in the Kanto region from these titles into the Pokémon HOME cloud service.

Transfers are strictly one-way: players can move Pokémon from FireRed and LeafGreen to Pokémon HOME and subsequently to other compatible Nintendo Switch titles, but they cannot move Pokémon back to the original games. Additionally, the free tier of Pokémon HOME has seen its storage capacity increased from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon as part of this update.

As a reward for completing the Kanto Pokédex from these specific versions, players can receive the Mythical Pokémon Celebi (level 50) via the Mystery Gift feature on the mobile version of the application.
