Pokémon HOME FireRed and LeafGreen integration
Overview
The Pokémon Company and GAME FREAK released update 4.1.0 for Pokémon HOME, enabling connectivity with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. This update allows players to transfer Pokémon captured in the Kanto region from these specific titles into the Pokémon HOME cloud service for use in other compatible games.
Transfers are strictly one-way: while players can move Pokémon from FireRed and LeafGreen to Pokémon HOME, they cannot move them back to the original games. As part of this update, the storage capacity for the free tier of Pokémon HOME has been increased from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon.
Additionally, players who complete the Kanto Pokédex using these specific versions are eligible to receive the Mythical Pokémon Celebi (level 50) via the Mystery Gift feature on the mobile version of the application. The appearance of a ‘Game Boy Advance series’ label in the menu has also led to community speculation regarding potential future support for other GBA titles.
