Pokémon Pokopia releases Bubbly Basin DLC expansion

The first part of the Pokémon Pokopia expansion pass, titled ‘Bubbly Basin’, was released on August 5. This DLC is the first of three planned paid updates for the Nintendo Switch 2 title, with subsequent releases expected in late 2026 and 2027.

Bubbly Basin introduces an aquatic biome that players can access using the Dive move after completing specific environmental tasks in the Bleak Beach area. The expansion includes new furniture, an outfit for Ditto, and fifty new Pokémon encounters across thirty-six aquatic habitats, including special encounters with Phione and Manaphy.

Gameplay objectives within the DLC involve helping Popplio raise the environment level and assisting Professor Tangrowth in rebuilding the Bubbly Basin Pokémon Center. Additionally, players can utilize a new Blender mechanic to create various Smoothies, such as Watermelon, Leppa, and Sea Grape varieties, which serve to power up the move Surf for enhanced underwater exploration.
