Pokémon TCG unveils Pitch Black set and Ruler of the Skies mobile expansion

The Pokémon Trading Card Game announced two new expansions. The physical Mega Evolution series ‘Pitch Black’ (also known as Buio Pesto or Escuridão Absoluta) has entered stores worldwide, adding over 115 cards, including the highly‑chased Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex, a range of trainer and special‑illustration cards, and a promotional 25 % discount on the Advanced Trainer Box in Brazil. Reviewers highlighted the set’s dark art style and its focus on Mega Evolution mechanics.

Separately, the mobile title Pokémon TCG Pocket will release the ‘Ruler of the Skies’ expansion on 29 July 2026. The pack introduces Mega Rayquaza ex as its flagship card, alongside Mega Metagross ex and Mega Gallade ex. New gameplay features let players share decks via 2D QR codes, receive a guaranteed ◆◆◆◆ or higher rarity card after meeting certain opening conditions, and participate in a series of limited‑time events such as elite‑deck missions and emblem challenges.
