Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution expansion rollout

Overview

Following the July 2026 rollout of the “Pitch Black” and “Storm Emerald” expansions, The Pokémon Company has announced further developments for both physical and digital formats.

In the Japanese physical market, a new High Class booster set titled “MEGA x MEGA Parade” is scheduled for release on 19 February 2027. This set will feature Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, characters introduced via the Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC. The release date was adjusted to avoid conflict with the worldwide launches of the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration and Aura Seeker sets. Each High Class pack will be priced at ¥550 and contain 10 cards, including one guaranteed high-rarity card.

For the digital title Pokémon TCG Pocket, the “Deluxe Pack: Mega” (also referred to as “High Class Pack MEGA”) is set to launch for a limited time from 30 September to 29 October 2026. Developed in collaboration with DeNA, this expansion serves as the conclusion to the game’s B Series, featuring approximately 429 cards originally released between the “Mega Rising” and “Ruler of the Skies” expansions. Each four-card pack guarantees at least one “ex” card or higher rarity card (four-diamond rarity or higher).

The set introduces new illustrations, special holographic designs, and parallel foil variants, specifically highlighting cards such as Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Lucario ex, and Mega Gardevoir ex. Digital updates scheduled for late October include a “Parallel Foil Cards Mass Outbreak” event, a “Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event,” and the introduction of community deck features, which allow players to view and copy public deck recipes. The update will also feature a renewed “Rental Deck” system and changes to the “Step-up Battle” format.
