Poland 2026 shopping Sunday schedule announced

In 2026, Poland will observe eight designated shopping Sundays. The statutory schedule includes January 25, March 29, April 26, June 28, August 30, and three dates in December: the 6th, 13th, and 20th.

Regarding the month of August, only August 30 is designated as a shopping Sunday. Consequently, most large retail chains, supermarkets, and shopping malls will remain closed on August 9, 2026. Following the August date, the next opportunities for unrestricted shopping will not occur until December.

While the Sunday trading ban has been in effect since 2018, several exceptions allow certain businesses to operate. These include gas stations, pharmacies, post offices, bakeries, florists, and small shops where the owner personally manages the sales. Additionally, food service establishments and retail points located at airports, train stations, or tourist sites remain exempt from the restrictions.
