Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz resigns from government and Polska 2050

Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz has resigned from her position as Minister of Funds and Regional Policy and from her leadership role in the Polska 2050 party. She cited a conflict of values, specifically regarding coalition votes on a bill to abolish term limits in local government.

Following her resignation, the board of Polska 2050 expelled her from the party, citing actions detrimental to the organization and violations of statutory resolutions. Party leader Szymon Hołownia characterized her departure as a breach of the party's agreement and a move that undermines coalition stability.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the resignation, stating that the ministry must now focus on the critical task of managing billions of euros from the National Recovery Plan (KPO). Tusk indicated he has two non-partisan female candidates in mind to replace her, emphasizing the need for professional expertise rather than political maneuvering.
