Poland advances infrastructure plans for CPK and Obice terminal

Major infrastructure developments are progressing in Poland, involving both the Central Communication Port (CPK) project and new investment plans in the Świętokrzyskie region.

In Obice, plans have shifted from an airport to the creation of a railway freight terminal and investment zones. Letters of intent have been signed between the Mayor of Kielce, the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), the Starachowice Special Economic Zone, and CPK. The project involves approximately 500 hectares of land, with discussions underway to sell about 300 hectares to the government agency to fund further development in the Malików and Niewachlowe areas.

Regarding the CPK project, construction of the passenger terminal foundations is awaiting official approval from the Masovian Voivode. While the company Budimex has completed trial piling and is ready to begin work on a contract worth approximately 146 million PLN, the formal permit for piling is currently pending. The project also faces ongoing environmental reporting requirements as the Regional Director for Environmental Protection reviews documentation.
