Poland advances major road upgrades on Warsaw's Aleje Jerozolimskie and S19 expressway

Warsaw is undergoing an intensive modernization of the Aleje Jerozolimskie, covering the stretch from Plac Zawiszy to Sokołowskiego. Work is staged to minimise weekday disruption, with weekend paving and new asphalt laid so that the renewed surface can be opened on the morning of 20 July. Detours are in place and drivers are advised to allow extra time, especially at night and in the early morning, while municipal crews continue to prepare the sub‑base and install safety measures.

On the S19 expressway, a 2‑kilometre segment between the Sokołów Małopolski North and Sokołów Małopolski junctions was opened to traffic on 27 July, offering a full dual‑carriageway with two lanes in each direction. The opening enables the removal of temporary lane restrictions and supports ongoing works on adjoining sections, including pavement laying, acoustic barriers and the reconstruction of an overpass in Nienadówka. Further stretches are scheduled for release through September, with the entire project expected to finish by year‑end.
