Poland allocates funds for senior education and civil‑defence training programmes

The West Pomeranian Voivodeship announced an open competition for offers until 8 July 2026 to implement selected public tasks under the “Active Seniors – ASY” 2026‑2030 programme. The call covers Priority II (education of older people) and Priority IV (inter‑generational integration) and is open to NGOs operating in the region.

Katowice city approved a 150 000 PLN budget for civil‑defence education in 2026. Four NGOs received grants to deliver training to residents, including the Malta Medical Aid Foundation (25 000 PLN), the Silesian Scout Headquarters with the Regional Volunteer Centre (50 000 PLN), the Senior Firefighters Association of Katowice (15 000 PLN) and a consortium led by the Silesian Forum of NGOs (60 000 PLN). The programme aims to teach hazard recognition, evacuation procedures, first aid and the use of protective equipment. “Safety starts with knowledge and skills of residents,” said Katowice mayor Marcin Krupa.
