Poland allocates millions in regional grants for heritage preservation and food‑security workshops
In the Podlaskie region, the pilot programme “Smak bezpiecznej wsi” will distribute close to 100,000 zł to women’s circles and local NGOs. Recipients will use the funds to run workshops on traditional food preservation, crisis stockpiling, rational food use and basic first aid, and to purchase equipment such as a pasteurisation pot and a food‑drying rack.
The “Mazowsze dla zabytków” initiative will provide more than 1 million zł to municipalities in the Ciechanów, Pułtusk, Mława and Płońsk counties. The money will finance conservation, restoration and building works for eleven historic monuments, including two parishes that each receive 100,000 zł for the repair of polychrome wall and ceiling paintings.
In Krośniewice, the first stage of conservation work on the historic Rembieliński Palace has begun. Contracted to ARTE Konserwacja Zabytków of Toruń, the work focuses on the façade, cornices and stuccoes to halt further decay. The municipality also secured 100,000 zł from the Ministry of National Defence to restore the park’s monument to Prince Józef Poniatowski, with plans for new pathways, lighting, monitoring, benches, waste bins and an interactive educational board.
