Poland and Canada seek to expand economic ties with India
Poland and Canada are seeking to expand economic ties with India, focusing on diverse industrial sectors.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is scheduled to visit New Delhi and Bengaluru in late October. The mission, which includes nearly 100 leading Polish companies, aims to strengthen cooperation in defense, space, machinery, and food processing. Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski noted that while bilateral relations are improving, there is significant potential for further growth.
Canadian International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu identified energy, critical minerals, and aerospace as primary areas for partnership. Highlighting India’s growing energy needs, Sidhu suggested Canada could play a major role as a leading exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Additionally, Canada aims to support India’s electric vehicle and battery supply chains through the provision of critical minerals. Trade negotiations between India and Canada are ongoing, with the fifth round of talks set to begin in Ottawa.
