Poland and Colombia see sharp rise in fuel prices
In Poland, retail fuel prices have climbed sharply ahead of the summer travel season. Diesel now averages about 8.14 zł per litre, up from previous levels, while gasoline (PB95) costs around 7.44 zł per litre. Autogas (LPG) is the only fuel that has fallen, dropping to roughly 3.05 zł per litre. The government is weighing protective measures, including a possible price‑cap mechanism announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and a temporary VAT reduction being explored by Deputy Minister Konrad Wojnarowski.
In Colombia, drivers are facing similar cost pressures. The price of gasoline 95 rose by 15 cents to 7.44 units per litre, and diesel increased by 35 cents to 7.99 units per litre. Autogas, by contrast, fell by 4 cents to 3.05 units per litre. Market analysts attribute the hikes to higher global oil prices and tighter wholesale market conditions, with no immediate relief measures announced.
Both countries report that the widening gap between gasoline and diesel prices is straining household travel budgets during the peak holiday period.
