Poland approves upgrades to Pułtusk flood pump station and Jaworzno water network

Poland has signed a contract to modernise the Pump Station No. 1 in Pułtusk, a key element of the city’s flood‑protection system that safeguards an area of 9.29 km² and about 3,000 residents. The works will involve partial demolition of the underground structure, expansion of the inlet, construction of a new above‑ground building, installation of modern pump units and cleaning equipment, and connection to water and sewage networks.

In Jaworzno, the municipal water utility has begun modernising the water‑supply network on the Bory estate, covering streets such as Kasprowicza, Karłowicza and Jeleńska. Approximately 1,000 m of old pipelines will be replaced with a new system to reduce failures, improve pressure and ensure reliable drinking‑water delivery. The project, using both trench and trenchless techniques, is slated for completion by the end of August, with temporary water interruptions and minor traffic disruptions expected during the transition of about 30 households at a time.
