Poland: Attempted murder charge and online political threats

In Rutki, Podlaskie Voivodeship, a 43-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a dispute near a garage. During a verbal altercation, the suspect allegedly fired a shot at the head of an Audi driver. Despite serious injuries, the victim managed to drive the vehicle before colliding with a fence. Police detained nine individuals in connection with the incident or as witnesses. The suspect has been placed in three-month temporary detention.

Separately, in the Gorzów district, a 55-year-old woman faces charges for inciting the murder of Law and Justice (PiS) politicians online. The woman posted comments suggesting the hiring of a professional killer to eliminate figures including Jarosław Kaczyński, Mateusz Morawiecki, and others. Following an investigation by the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, the woman admitted to posting the comments, claiming they were expressions of political dissatisfaction rather than genuine threats. She is currently under police supervision and faces up to three years in prison.
