Poland boosts defense output with new helmet and rocket factories

Canadian defence firm Galvion opened a ballistic‑helmet production plant in Gdańsk, Poland on 23 June 2025, an event attended by Canadian ambassador Catherine Godin. The facility employs over 100 staff and has already produced more than 90,000 helmets for NATO members and partner nations, with a capacity of about 100,000 helmets per year and capabilities for maintenance, modernisation and training.

Construction has begun on a rocket‑missile factory in Gorzów Wielkopolski under a Hanwha WB Advanced Systems consortium that combines Poland’s WB Electronics and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace. Valued at roughly 1.5‑2 billion złoty, the plant will manufacture CGR‑080 missiles for the Homar‑K artillery system. First missiles are expected in 2028, with deliveries planned for 2030‑33, and the site will create around 150 jobs, marking the first domestic production of rocket missiles in Poland.
