Poland boosts heat‑pump adoption with subsidies in Mazowieckie and Ząbkowice Śląskie
Heat‑pump installations are increasing in Poland, especially in the Mazowieckie region and the town of Ząbkowice Śląskie. The technology extracts renewable heat from air, ground or water, offering lower heating bills, year‑round comfort and reduced CO₂ emissions.
The national "Czyste Powietrze" (Clean Air) programme provides substantial grants—often covering 66 % to 99 % of eligible costs—to replace old coal or wood boilers with modern heat pumps or efficient boilers. Local authorities also offer additional tax reliefs and subsidies. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria, complete an energy audit and, for certain installations, obtain building permits.
Heat‑pump models vary in price from a few thousand to tens of thousands of zlotys, with installation costs dependent on type and site conditions. Despite higher upfront expenses, long‑term savings and improved air quality are emphasized. The programme, running until 2027, aims to cut household heating expenses and improve regional air quality across Poland.
