Poland commemorates 100‑year milestones for police sport and volunteer fire brigade

In 2026, the Polish National Police marked the centenary of sport within the force by launching a public poll to select the most popular police athlete. The voting, conducted via the official "Sport w Policji" Facebook page, runs from 24 July to 28 October and invites any adult with a Facebook account to cast a vote.

Separately, the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Latyczyn celebrated its 100th anniversary with a ceremony that included a mass, flag‑raising, and the awarding of the Gold Badge of the Polish Volunteer Firefighters Association. The event was attended by local officials, including County Executive Stanisław Grześko, and highlighted the brigade’s historic contribution to community safety.
