Poland considers Patriot missile transfers as Russia challenges US-Turkey arms plans

Poland is considering the transfer of Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine, though officials state no final decision has been made. Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk indicated that while requests for Patriot missiles are frequent, the government must ensure that providing aid does not compromise Poland's own air defense capabilities. Discussions regarding a potential exchange of MiG-29 fighter jets for Ukrainian drone technology are also reportedly gaining momentum, with Bulgaria expressing interest in purchasing the aircraft if an exchange is not reached.

Separately, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has demanded explanations from the United States and Turkey regarding reported plans to transfer a significant arsenal to Kyiv. Spokesperson Maria Zakharova cited documents from the US Congress suggesting the potential delivery of offensive weapons, including 12 multiple launch rocket systems, 70 ATACMS missiles, and thousands of cluster munitions. Russia warned that such transfers, potentially involving US weapons from Turkish stocks, undermine bilateral trust and could cause significant damage to relations with Washington and Ankara.
