Poland diplomatic crisis erupts over ambassadorial nominations

A political dispute has emerged in Poland regarding the appointment of ambassadors, involving Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and President Karol Nawrocki. During a visit to Ukraine, Sikorski issued a public appeal for the President to sign the diplomatic nominations.

Marcin Przydacz, head of the President's International Policy Bureau, responded by accusing Sikorski of triggering the crisis and engaging in ‘unclean political games’. Przydacz claimed that while an initial package of professional diplomats had been negotiated and sanctioned by the top leadership, Prime Minister Donald Tusk reportedly withdrew his support for the agreement.

According to Przydacz, the breakdown in negotiations stems from a political decision by the Prime Minister to avoid any cooperation or agreements with President Nawrocki, opting instead for continuous criticism and conflict.
