Poland emerges as a logistics and automation hub for Europe

Poland is emerging as a critical hub for European logistics, e-commerce, and warehouse automation. Driven by its central geographic location and expanding infrastructure, the country is attracting significant investment from global retailers and manufacturers.

A notable trend is the influence of Chinese businesses, which are increasingly active in European logistics and providing automation and robotics technology for fulfillment centers.

The market is shifting from traditional nearshoring based on cost and location toward ‘techshoring,’ where digital infrastructure and automation capabilities are primary drivers for investment. According to the EY European Attractiveness Survey 2026, while investment projects in Europe fell by 7 percent last year, Poland saw a 10 percent increase.

Investors are increasingly prioritizing facilities that offer real-time operational management, energy availability, and integration with artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. Research from JLL indicates that smart technologies and robotics will be the most significant factors in the development of modern warehouse facilities over the next five years.
