Poland enforces drunk driving laws and conducts foreign national deportations

Authorities in Poland have conducted several enforcement actions involving drunk driving and the deportation of foreign nationals following criminal activities.

On the S8 route, police intercepted a 49-year-old truck driver who was operating a vehicle in a zigzag pattern while heavily intoxicated. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 2.8 per mille. The driver, accompanied by an equally intoxicated passenger, faces potential charges that could lead to up to three years in prison.

In the Silesia region, the Silesian Border Guard executed rapid deportations of foreign nationals. Two Georgian citizens were expelled and received five-year bans from the Schengen Area after committing serious road offenses, including driving under the influence and violating court-ordered driving bans. Additionally, a 39-year-old Ukrainian national was deported with a 10-year re-entry ban following convictions for domestic violence, including physical assault and death threats against a partner.
