Poland Enhances Defense Capabilities with Upgraded Aerodynamic Tunnel and Ukraine Drone Collaboration

The Łukasiewicz Research Network’s Institute of Aviation (ILOT) has modernised its T3 aerodynamic tunnel, the largest of its kind in Central‑East Europe, using 105 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan (KPO). The upgraded facility will support defence, unmanned aerial system and space technology projects, decreasing reliance on foreign infrastructure and strengthening Poland’s role in European consortia such as the EU Defence Fund and the European Space Agency (ESA).

At the same time, the Polish Defence Group (PGZ) is analysing and expanding cooperation with Ukrainian companies in drone and related unmanned technologies. PGZ says the partnership aims to develop production, integration and servicing capabilities for UAVs, maritime unmanned platforms and missile systems, creating competencies that could serve the Polish Armed Forces and the wider European defence ecosystem.
