Poland faces widespread sleep problems among seniors and the general public

Research shows that around half of Polish seniors experience sleep disturbances, often linked to reduced melatonin production, health issues and altered daily rhythms. Experts advise regular physical activity, exposure to daylight, consistent sleep schedules and, where appropriate, melatonin supplementation.

A separate poll indicates that 41% of all Poles are dissatisfied with their sleep quality. The most common complaints are difficulty falling asleep due to racing thoughts (about 43%), frequent night awakenings (34%), worry about the future (33%), stress (30%) and excessive use of technology (26%). Psychologists warn that chronic stress and anxiety can create a cycle of insomnia that harms mental and physical health.
