Fuel price changes across Central and Eastern Europe

Several Central and Eastern European countries are implementing new regulated fuel prices effective October 20, 2026.

In Croatia, the government has issued new decrees to regulate maximum retail prices. Gasoline prices will decrease slightly by 0.01 EUR/l to 1.73 EUR/l, while diesel is set to increase by 0.04 EUR/l to 1.87 EUR/l. Blue diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will also see price hikes. The government noted that without these interventions, prices would be significantly higher.

In Slovenia, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announced that 95-octane gasoline will decrease by 0.04 EUR/l to 1.702 EUR/l. Conversely, diesel and heating oil will increase by 4.2 cents per liter. These regulated prices apply to service stations outside of motorways and highways and are valid until October 26.

In Poland, the Ministry of Energy has announced new maximum retail prices under the ‘Ceny Paliwa Niżej’ (Lower Fuel Prices) program. Gasoline 95 will drop to 6.79 PLN/l, Gasoline 98 to 7.56 PLN/l, and diesel to 7.97 PLN/l. This program aims to mitigate high costs driven by geopolitical tensions and supply constraints.

In North Macedonia, the Regulatory Commission for Energy has set new prices where gasoline prices decrease by 2.50 denars/l, while diesel increases by 2.00 denars/l to 99.00 denars/l.
