Poland highlights: Olsztyn Ferris wheel and architectural innovations

Various architectural and local interest developments are highlighted in Poland. In Olsztyn, a new Ferris wheel has been installed near the city center at the intersection of Dworcowa Street and Piłsudski Avenue. Provided by ARBET Investment Group, the attraction is scheduled to operate throughout September, offering residents and tourists a new perspective of the city.

In residential design, several 50-square-meter apartment projects by Polish architects are featured, showcasing styles ranging from eclectic to urban farmhouse. These designs emphasize functional layouts, natural materials like light oak, and strategic use of color and texture.

Additionally, a notable architectural project in Podkowa Leśna has received the SARP award for the best house in Poland (2026 edition). The design, created by Mak studio, utilizes a ‘box in box’ concept, preserving an old brick building by surrounding it with a new structure made of prefabricated cross-laminated timber (CLT). This method allowed for construction within a forest setting without the use of heavy machinery.
