Poland holds major religious ceremonies in Częstochowa and Bard

On 28 June 2026 the Sanctuary of Blood of Christ in Częstochowa hosted a solemn "odpuść" ceremony honoring the Blood of Christ. The event featured a Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Wacław Depo, a communal meal, a concert by the Last Minute Band from Częstochowa‑Mykanów, and a procession of the Blood of Christ relic through the sanctuary’s chapels, concluding with a joint prayer.

A week later, on 9 July 2026, a stone bridge in the town of Bard was the site of the unveiling and blessing of a figure of the Crucified Christ by priest Piotr Wiśniewski. The ceremony restored the historic arrangement of statues on the bridge, completing a Polish‑Czech "Monuments of Faith" project financed by the EU Interreg Czech‑Poland programme. Local officials, including Mayor Marta Ptasińska, and Czech partners from Neratov participated in the event.
