Poland hosts various historical commemorations and reenactments

Various historical commemorations and cultural events are taking place across Poland. In Niepołomice, the 20th anniversary of the ‘Pola Chwały’ event brought together over 60 reenactment groups representing eras from antiquity to the modern age.

In Walewice, ceremonies were held to honor the heroes of the Battle of the Bzura, the largest battle of the 1939 September Campaign, featuring a field mass and wreath-laying at the monument to the 17th Wielkopolska Uhlan Regiment. Similarly, Wyszogród is preparing for a large-scale historical reconstruction on October 4, focusing on the 1939 military campaign with period vehicles, weaponry, and pyrotechnics.

Other regional activities include a memorial march in Stryków to commemorate the 1863 January Uprising, where participants walked an 8 km route to honor fallen insurgents. Additionally, in Tarnogród, the new Park of the Victims of World War II is set to open, a project funded largely by European funds to provide a space for both recreation and historical reflection.
