Poland hosts vibrant folk festivals in Susiec and Strzegom

On July 26, the 25th Transborder Festival of Song about Roztocze took place in Susiec, organized by the local mayor and cultural centre. The event featured a competition of traditional songs, with winners from Tomaszów, Krynica and other villages, and performances by the band PIERSI and other folk groups.

Starting August 5, the 34th International Folk Festival began in Strzegom, offering free concerts and workshops. Artists from Bolivia, Chile, the United States and other countries performed traditional dances and music, while the mayor Krzysztof Kalinowski highlighted the festival’s educational purpose for local children. The program includes daily concerts, a “World Market” on the town square, and a finale concert by the group InoRos.
