Poland hunts justice minister Ziobro and ex‑MP Romanowski across Europe

Polish Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek announced that authorities are actively seeking former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro and former PiS MP Marcin Romanowski, who are wanted on criminal charges linked to the Justice Fund scandal. Żurek said Poland is cooperating with foreign services, having exchanged letters with prosecutorial authorities in Croatia, Serbia and Hungary. Hungary has revoked travel documents for the pair, while a European arrest warrant remains in force for Romanowski, who is also subject to a pending extradition request. The ministry is preparing a request to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to aid in locating any of the fugitives on American soil. Rumors suggest Romanowski may have travelled to Turkey, but officials confirm he is not in Serbia. Żurek stressed that both men will be treated like any other suspect under the law.
