Poland implements crisis response training for residents

Various regions in Poland are implementing initiatives to enhance citizen preparedness for crisis situations. In Katowice, the ‘ODPORNE KATOWICE’ project offers free training for adult residents through November 10, 2026. The program covers essential skills such as evacuation procedures, first aid, preparing emergency supplies, and identifying official information sources. Katowice Mayor Marcin Krupa emphasized that the initiative utilizes the expertise of non-governmental organizations to provide practical knowledge for maintaining safety during disruptions.

Simultaneously, a national response training exercise took place in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, including the Sanok district. This action focused on teaching residents how to react to real-world threats, specifically addressing air attacks and other emergencies. In Sanok, eleven educational points were established where firefighters and rescuers demonstrated emergency protocols. Authorities advised residents to remain calm and strictly follow official alarm signals, noting that a modulated siren indicates an alarm while a continuous sound signifies its cancellation.
