Poland implements new educational supervision and assessment regulations

The Polish Minister of Education has signed new regulations regarding pedagogical supervision and the issuance of psychological-pedagogical opinions. These changes, published in the Journal of Laws, introduce new legal frameworks for the control and evaluation of educational institutions by superintendents.

Effective September 1, 2026, schools will also be required to provide a functional assessment of a student's performance before a psychological-pedagogical clinic issues a formal opinion or ruling. This assessment must include a comprehensive characterization of the student's functioning within the school or preschool environment, focusing on their activity levels, social participation, and physical or cognitive functions. Schools will have 10 days to prepare and submit these assessments to the relevant clinics upon request from either the clinic or the parents.
