On 26 July, the government announced the “Reforma'26 – Kompas Jutra” programme, a package of school-assessment and behaviour reforms set for 1 September 2026. These changes standardise exam organisation, set minimum exam durations, and limit pupils to three exams per day. Behaviour-assessment criteria were revised to include respect for national heritage and other cultures. On 28 July, the Ministry clarified that existing regulations permit crosses in classrooms, leaving placement disputes to be settled case-by-case. On 20 August, Minister Barbara Nowacka signed amendments regarding student assessment and homework. For grades IV–VIII, practical homework like art or technical crafts is prohibited, while written homework must focus on reinforcing lesson knowledge. Teachers must now check all written homework and provide feedback. Additionally, schools may allow students to improve annual grades through optional written homework if included in internal statutes. Technical and vocational students may also be exempt from certain school-based driving preparation classes if they provide external certification.
