Poland implements new senior support and benefit regulations
New regulations regarding support for seniors in Poland have come into effect. Under the Senior Voucher Program for 2026–2028, eligible individuals aged 65 and older can receive assistance valued at up to 2,500 PLN per month. This support is not provided as cash or a direct bank transfer; instead, it covers the cost of services provided in the senior's home, such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, and assistance with daily hygiene and dressing. The specific number of service hours will be determined by local municipalities.
Additionally, retirees and pensioners can access various benefits and discounts through their retiree-pensioner ID. While traditional plastic cards remain valid until their expiration, a digital version (mLegitymacja) is being introduced via the mObywatel application. These credentials grant access to privileges such as public transport discounts, RTV license fee exemptions, and free medications.
