Poland introduces new electric scooter regulations and enforcement

Poland is implementing new regulations and enforcement measures regarding electric scooters to improve urban safety and order. Starting June 3, 2026, mandatory helmet laws will apply to all riders under the age of 16. This requirement also extends to those using bicycles and other personal transport devices within that age group.

In Warsaw, Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has initiated stricter controls over improperly parked rental scooters. Following an agreement between the city and operators such as Bolt, Dott, and Lime, municipal patrols have begun identifying and towing vehicles that block sidewalks or communication routes. Recent enforcement actions in the capital resulted in the towing of over 140 devices.
