Poland invests 59.3 billion PLN in 1,360 km of road infrastructure
Poland's General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced a massive infrastructure program involving 116 ongoing investments valued at 59.3 billion PLN. These projects cover a total length of 1,360 km.
Regarding the national motorway network, Poland is nearing its 2,100 km target, with only 150 km remaining to be built, including parts of the A2 and the planned A50 ring road around Warsaw. In contrast, the expressway network requires significant expansion; of the planned 5,880 km, only 3,643.2 km are currently in use.
Key expressway developments include the S19, S10, S11, S12, S74, and S17 routes. Specifically, the S19 section of the Via Carpatia is seeing major progress, with the Boćki – Malewice segment reaching 99.9% completion. While some projects like the S19 Malewice – Chlebczyn and the Białystok bypass are experiencing delays, GDDKiA expects to open six new expressway sections by the end of 2026.
