Poland issues government safety guidance for home utility shut-offs
The Polish government has issued specific recommendations in its official ‘Safety Guide’ regarding household emergency preparedness. Residents are advised to clearly mark the locations of three critical utility shut-off points: gas, electricity, and water.
To ensure these markers are easily identifiable during a crisis, such as a fire, flood, or leak, the guide suggests using visible indicators like colored tape. Beyond mere labeling, the government emphasizes the importance of practicing the shut-off procedures with all family members. This ensures that multiple people in a household know how to respond quickly if the primary person responsible for home maintenance is unavailable during an emergency.
