Poland issues mobilization cards to citizens for defense planning

Military Recruitment Centers in Poland are issuing personalized mobilization cards to citizens as part of routine defense planning during peacetime. These documents, issued under the 2022 Defense of the Homeland Act, designate specific military roles or functions for individuals in the event of a conflict or mobilization.

The cards are categorized by color-coded strips: red strips are for reserve soldiers requiring immediate service upon mobilization; green strips are for passive reserves called up via separate notices; and blue strips are for Ministry of National Defense employees and designated civilian personnel.

Assignments are based on qualifications, experience, and specialized skills, including medicine, IT, logistics, and communications. While the receipt of these documents does not signal the start of mobilization, failure to comply with summons during wartime carries severe legal consequences, including a minimum of three years in prison.
