Poland launches 4,000 new bottle‑deposit machines with card refunds

An operator of Poland’s bottle‑deposit system announced plans to install four thousand new automated return machines across the country. The devices will credit the deposit directly onto a payment card, eliminating the need for paper vouchers. The rollout will begin in Warsaw before expanding to other major cities and tourist towns.

The initiative aims to streamline the recycling process, improve user convenience, and modernise the existing deposit scheme.
