Poland launches 500 million PLN Vinci Space Tech Fund

Poland has launched the Vinci Space Tech Fund, a 500 million PLN initiative dedicated to developing the nation's space technology sector. Announced in Kraków by Finance Minister Andrzej Domański and representatives from the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), the fund is one of the few of its kind in Europe.

The fund aims to invest in 15 to 20 growth-stage companies, providing capital ranging from 10 million to 100 million PLN per firm. Managed by Vinci, a part of the BGK Group, the fund will prioritize Polish companies but may also invest in European firms operating within Poland. Strategic partner ICEYE, a leader in satellite reconnaissance, is also involved in the initiative.

Investment focus areas include satellites, Earth observation, satellite communications, electronics, photonics, rocket propulsion, data, and artificial intelligence. Beyond commercial growth, the fund is intended to bolster Poland's technological sovereignty, economic security, and ability to monitor critical infrastructure and territory.
