Poland launches 8,000‑zł micro‑rainwater grant program

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is reopening the "Mikroretencja" programme in the second quarter of 2026 with a budget of about 173 million zł. Homeowners of single‑family houses can receive up to 8,000 zł, covering as much as 90 % of qualifying costs for rainwater‑capture and storage systems such as roof collectors, tanks of at least 2 m³, infiltration wells and related irrigation equipment. Applications are accepted on a first‑come‑first‑served basis until the funds are exhausted; the deadline is not fixed.

Eligibility requires ownership, co‑ownership or perpetual usufruct of a detached house, completion of the installation after 1 July 2024, and compliance with technical thresholds (minimum investment 2,000 zł, catch‑area of at least 50 m²). The grant is paid after project completion upon submission of invoices and cannot be combined with other schemes like "Moja Woda". The regional launch in Łódź province began on 22 June 2026 and attracted over 1,300 applications in the first days.
