Polish banks and policymakers are framing defence spending as a catalyst for the national economy. PKO Bank Polski estimates that modernising the armed forces could generate up to 1.3 trillion PLN in additional GDP by 2035, depending on the share of domestic production, maintenance and technology development.

At the same time, the Fund for Security and Defence (FBiO) has opened its first call for proposals. Valued at about 23 billion PLN, the fund combines a 16‑billion‑złoty loan segment and a 7‑billion‑złoty investment segment. Applications, accepted from 6 July, target projects such as protective infrastructure, dual‑use facilities and cyber‑security systems. Loans will be 20‑year, low‑interest credits, with partial forgiveness possible. The investment arm, managed by the Chrobry group, will support Polish firms through programmes like Chrobry ScaleLab and Chrobry PE&I, aiming to expand domestic production capacity and advanced technologies.
