Poland launches grant programs to boost local community resilience and municipal revitalisation

The Centre for Development of Social Initiatives (CRIS) has opened the "Bezpieczna Polska Lokalnie" grant competition, offering up to 25,000 zł to NGOs, associations and local branches operating in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 residents. Applications are accepted from 29 June to 30 July 2026 and the programme targets digital safety, misinformation, mental‑well‑being and local defence competencies. An online information session is scheduled for 9 July 2026.

In the Opole region, the provincial authority has begun accepting proposals for the "Regionalne Granty na Rewitalizację" programme. Grants of up to 200,000 zł are available to Opole gminy that implement revitalisation projects focusing on social cohesion, citizen engagement and the creation of shared public spaces. Applications run from 1 July to 15 September 2026, require partnership with at least one NGO or social cooperative, and are funded through regional and European sources.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen local solidarity, encourage cooperation between residents and civil‑society organisations, and improve the resilience and quality of life in Polish communities.
