Poland launches nationwide preventive health campaign
The Polish Ministry of Health has launched a nationwide information and education campaign titled ‘Profilaktyka – podaj dalej’ (Prevention – pass it on). The initiative aims to increase public awareness regarding the importance of regular medical screenings and preventive health measures.
Data indicates a significant gap in the utilization of available screening programs. Over the last two years, approximately 32.77% of eligible women utilized breast cancer prevention programs (mammography), while only 15.22% participated in cervical cancer screening using the HPV HR test. Additionally, participation in colorectal cancer screening via colonoscopy stood at approximately 15% in 2025.
Health experts note that while access to testing is expanding through tools like the MojeIKP application, many citizens avoid regular check-ups due to fear of diagnosis. The campaign encourages individuals to not only monitor their own health through blood tests, glucose, and cholesterol checks but also to encourage family and friends to undergo necessary screenings.
